Inspired by the historic 1897 Imperial Coronation Egg created by Peter Carl Fabergé for Tsar Nicholas II as an Easter gift to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, this exquisite piece commemorates her ceremonial entry into Moscow following the 1896 coronation. The original egg was crafted under workmaster Mikhail Perkhin and took over a year to complete, featuring translucent yellow enamel designed to resemble the gold cloth gown worn by the Empress and adorned with diamond set black eagles symbolizing the Romanov dynasty.
Inside, the authentic masterpiece concealed a remarkably detailed miniature 18th century Imperial coach created by Georg Stein, measuring approximately 3.8 inches long, complete with moving wheels and opening doors. The original egg was confiscated after 1917, later sold, and is now displayed at the Fabergé Museum in Saint Petersburg.
This beautifully detailed interpretation captures that grandeur with radiant enamel, ornate gold tone accents, and a finely crafted coach surprise within. The hinged design opens smoothly and closes securely, while the decorative stand enhances its display presence. Presented in a padded satin lined gift box, it offers royal inspired elegance, historic symbolism, and striking collectible appeal.
